Insight Editions’ Most Anticipated Movies of 2016

Here at Insight Editions, we love movies, especially sci fi, action, fantasy, comic book, and video game movies. Now that the most anticipated movie of 2015 has finally been released, it is time to look forward to 2016. Here are the top five movies we are personally most anticipating seeing in the coming year!

Movie # 1

FantasticBeasts

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
November 18, 2016
Starring: Eddie Redmayne, Ezra Miller, Colin Farrell

It’s no wonder this is the most anticipated movie we at Insight want to see in 2016. We are all huge fans of the entire Harry Potter franchise. So we were just as excited as all of you when we heard there would be a new prequel movie coming out next November! Take a look at the first trailer below, and then check out our range of Harry Potter products.

Movie # 2

CaptainAmerica

Captain America: Civil War
May 6, 2016
Starring: Chris Evans; Robert Downey, Jr; Scarlett Johansson

Captain America: The Winter Soldier was arguably the best movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase II (which began with Iron Man 3, and ended with Ant-Man). We like to geek out about comic books and their movie equivalents just as much as our fans. There are certainly a number of Captain America fans in this building who can’t wait for the final installment in the Captain America trilogy. Check out our other Marvel products, and then keep an eye out for our Captain America: The Poster Collection, coming in April!

Movie # 3

BatmanvSuperman

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
March 25, 2016
Starring: Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot

While there are many superhero movies coming out in 2016 (eight, more than in any previous year!), the two biggest are definitely Captain America and Batman v Superman. The second movie in the DC Cinematic Universe introduces the legendary characters of DC Comics’ Justice League. Watch the recently released second trailer below. See what other books we have done in collaboration with DC Comics, including The World According to Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.

Movie # 4

XMen

X-Men: Apocalypse
May 27, 2016
Starring: James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence

Rounding out the list of superhero movies we are most excited to see, we have Twentieth Century’s Fox’s next X-Men movie. The X-Men movie franchise has been going strong for the past 16 years, and in this movie it returns full circle to a new, younger version of the cast of characters we met in the first X-Men movie. The first trailer is full of chills and thrills. See our other Marvel products, such as The World According to Wolverine.

Movie # 5

Ghostbusters

Ghostbusters
July 15, 2016
Starring: Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones

Who you gonna call? While there is no official plot description for this all female reboot of the classic franchise, that hasn’t dampened our excitement for this movie! Ghostbusters is perhaps one of the most beloved of 80s movies; certainly it is in this office! We had so much fun putting together Ghostbusters: The Ultimate Visual History, so we will definitely line up to see this new movie.

That’s our list! So what movies are you most looking forward to seeing in 2016?
