Sculpting The Galaxy

Do you remember watching Star Wars: A New Hope as a kid, seeing the Death Star blow up, and thinking, “HOLY COW! How in the galaxy did they build a whole space station then blow it up!?” That is most likely thanks to the amazing work of legendary special effects artist, Lorne Peterson.

For those who don’t know, Lorne Peterson is the genius behind some of the iconic vehicles, ships, and explosions in all of Star Wars (He helped create Boba Fett’s Slave One and the freaking Millennium Falcon!).

As huge fans of Star Wars, we thought a legend like Lorne Peterson must have a lot of insight and memories from the creation of our favorite series. On that note, we entered the mind of the Star Wars legend himself and released Sculpting a Galaxy: Inside the Star Wars Model Shop. The Collector’s Edition can be seen above and includes a certificate of authenticity, a Landspeeder model – the reproduction based on the original cast and painting by Peterson – with four seats for scale figures of Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, C-3PO, and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

You can purchase the trade edition of Sculpting a Galaxy. Click here for a free preview of the book!
