What's your favorite Star Wars product that insight has published and why?

Definitely Star Wars: The Life Day Cookbook. If you're unfamiliar, the Life Day Cookbook is about the Wookiee holiday of Life Day. And it has recipes that you can prepare to help you celebrate the holiday. And it's basically our take on a Star Wars version of a holiday cookbook. The recipes are really tasty. I've tried a few of them. That was one of the first titles that I worked on as an editor. So, it kind of has a special place in my heart for that reason.

Which Star Wars character do you relate to the most and why?

I gotta say, C-3PO I relate to C-3PO He's kind of worried about things constantly and just trying his best. I kind of identify with that.

Which Star Wars movie is your favorite? And what scene from the movie is the best?

Some might say this is kind of a controversial pick, but my favorite is The Last Jedi. It's just because of the last scene with Luke on Craite where he's facing down Kylo Ren. And, you know, he enters the conflict and saves his friends without having to actually fight, which is like the most Jedi thing that you could do. I think it's sort of like it shows that he's learned his lesson from like Return of the Jedi where it's like, you know, he throws away the lightsaber in Return of the Jedi. And it's kind of like, you win by not fighting. He takes that back and does it again, at the end of The Last Jedi, but in a cool, epic way. I just I really like that. I want to sneak in like another like two other moments where it's like in that same sequence. Rose says That's how we're gonna win. Not fighting what we hate. Saving what we love." I might have gotten that wrong, but I just really liked that quote. And then it's got the scene where Luke is talking with Yoda and Yoda says, "failure, the greatest teacher is" and I just think that's like, a really good thing to kind of take away and just, you know, don't be too hard on yourself. It's never too late to do the right thing.

If you had Jedi powers, what would you use them for?

What would I use it for? So, in The Rise of Skywalker, Kylo Ren and Rey kind of figured out how to like, teleport things through the Force. I'd want to learn how to teleport myself. So, I don’t have to drive anywhere.  I feel like that'd be really good for the planet.

If you could teleport where would you go?

Um, let's see. If I could teleport somewhere in our galaxy, a really good sushi buffet. In Star Wars if I could teleport anywhere it would probably be Kashyyyk. That seems like a fun hang.

Which Star Wars book are you most excited for that Insight Editions is coming out with?

I'm excited about many of them. It's hard to choose this because there's like a ton of really good books coming out. I've got like a soft spot for our High Republic book that's coming out “Chronicles of the Jedi”. It's got really cool illustrations that are sort of like set in the time of the High Republic. So, you have a narrator who's taking you through the events of the High Republic. And it's very in-universe in that way. I think it shows aspects of the High Republic that people haven't really seen before. So, I'm excited for people to get their hands on that.

Another one is Star Wars: 125 Conversation Cards for Dinner Parties, Movie Marathons, and More, it’s one of the products that we're doing that's really exciting. It's basically a deck of cards, and you pull them out and each one has different questions. Use them to spur conversation with your friends and your family. And the questions are really thoughtful and creative and sometimes, really funny, like one of the questions is, would you rather fight 10 Porg-size space slugs or one space slug-sized Porg, and I really struggled with that one for a really long time. I still don't know what my answer would be.

We also have like a ton of Flip Pops, which are sort of like a pop-up book and like a collectible rolled into one. There's gonna be some really cool ones coming out. Can't wait to get my hands on them.

What’s your favorite Star Wars collectible that you own

A favorite collectible that I own...that's kind of tough. I feel like it's one of my Black Series action figures, but it's hard to choose just one of them. I feel like I might go with like, a flex answer, which is like the lightsaber that I built during the pandemic. During lockdown, I went to Lowe's for parts, and just kind of built a lightsaber. So, I feel like that one is the one that I'm the most proud of.

Questions from

Star Wars: 125 Conversation Cards for Dinner Parties, Movie Marathons, and More

If you could name a pet after a Star Wars character, what name would you choose? And why?

I do have a pet. His name is Indy. He's only sort of named after a Star Wars character, but not really, George Lucas had an Alaskan Malamute, named Indiana, which later inspired Chewbacca, but then of course, Indiana Jones. So, I named my dog Indiana, as kind of a nod to both of those things.

Bad news. You work for the Empire. Good news. Do you get to choose your boss? Who is it?

I gotta go with Director Krennic from Rogue One. He's kind of incompetent and like, he's just not that good at his job. Like that's how I got a promotion. Yeah, run circles around Krennic.

So, the Armorer offers to make you one object from a piece of Beskar. What are you asking her to forge?

I'm asking for like an iPhone phone case. If I drop it there's no way it's gonna crack. An indestructible phone case for sure.

Jedi lightsabers are usually blue, green, purple, or yellow. Which color would you choose? And why?

Definitely going with yellow on this one. It’s one of the more rare colors. I feel like it’s sort of reserved, people who have a more special connection to the force, a little bit more scholarly. It's just I think it looks really cool. Like really unique in the in the canon.
