Descend to the deep sea in the famous submersible Alvin! As readers journey thousands of feet beneath the waves alongside two scientists and a pilot, they’ll meet some of the weird and wonderful creatures that call the ocean home and even explore hydrothermal vents. In collaboration with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, which operates Alvin, this nonfiction picture book for kids ages 5 and up is based on Alvin’s real expeditions.

FAMOUS SUB: Alvin is the sub that explored the sunken Titanic in 1986, and it has made more than 5,000 dives over the last five decades.

COOL CRITTERS: Meet giant squid, sharks, and some of the most spectacular deep-sea worms you’ve ever seen!

STEM LEARNING: Fact filled and beautifully illustrated, this book inspires a love of the ocean and exploration.
