Himanshu Prabha Ray, Author: Himanshu Prabha Ray is a Sanskrit scholar, historian, and archeologist. Ray is a recipient of the Humboldt Foundation’s Anneliese Maier award for collaborative research with the Distant Worlds Programme at Ludwig Maximilian University in Germany. She has also served as professor in the Centre for Historical Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University in India. Ray was India’s Chairperson of the National Monuments Authority until 2015.
